Masjid Project - Sisters Centre

During Ramadhan 2014, Masjid At-Taqwa announced plans to re-build the Sisters Wudu and Ablution facilities. Over the course of the year, these works were significantly expanded to encompass a much-needed overhaul and expansion of the entire Sisters site.

This work is now complete Alhumudlillah, and prior to full service, Masjid At-Taqwa invited the community to see the centre first-hand.

Two open days were hosted:

•    Sisters and Children: Sunday 7th of June – Dhuhr to Asr
•    Brothers: Sunday 14th of June – Dhuhr to Asr

Free refreshments was served along with short tours of the work that was undertaken, and the significant improvements to the Centre. The Sisters' Open Day gave Sisters the chance to see the activities currently taking place within the Masjid and participated in a series of short events.

The main areas that the project Sisters Centre have encompassed over the course of the year included:

•    General expansion, providing at least a 30% increase in numbers
•    Complete renovation of the whole site including new carpets, stairs
     and décor
•    New fully fitted kitchen
•    New wudu, toilets and ablution facilities
•    Air conditioning installed on both floors
•    Dedicated space for push chairs
•    Improved access (and fire exits)
•    Improved audio and video set-up

The re-opening and renovation of the Sisters Centre marks a long standing commitment by Masjid At-Taqwa to promote, facilitate and grow activities for Sisters and Families in our local community.

We sincerely hope you avail yourselves of this opportunity to see the Centre for yourself and to spread the word. If you wish to visit the Masjid, details of the location can be found here. If you are a non-muslim or wish to make an official visit, you can contact us via the details provided by clicking here.

Masjid At-Taqwa also extends its heartfelt thanks to all those who have contributed their time, money and energy to realise the fulfilment of this facility. Your reward is certainly with Allah and May He shower you with His Magnanimity.
